We have not verified this, however the potential danger to all mariners justifies posting this as a warning. Over the last two weeks we have been receiving reports of underwater obstructions in the Matlacha Pass area near the now destroyed restaurant “Hooked Island Grill”. Apparently a sunken vehicle and a piling has been causing damage to hulls and outdrives. Be careful, check tides, go slow, trim up and use your sonar if you have to travel this route.
